Your Pre-Order FAQs Answered

If you've been looking for a bike or were looking for one last year, you're likely aware of major stock shortages. This is turning out to be another wild year in the bike industry, as well as many other areas of the economy! Bike makers are having a hard time keeping up - or catching up - with demand, supply chains are disrupted, and shipping and logistics issues are causing some real headaches for everyone.

The good news! We have been lucky enough to secure a steady stream of bikes coming into the shop this spring and early summer.

We are getting stock in weekly now, and this trend will continue into the foreseeable future. With that in mind, we've decided to let our customers know what's up with preordering bikes. Hopefully, you can find some answers here as to how our preorders work.

What is a preorder?

Preordering a bike (or parts and accessories) ensures that you will receive an item at a specified time, or approximate ETA when that item arrives.

We require a deposit of 25% of the item's pre-tax value, and the bike is reserved for you. This deposit is non-refundable but can be applied to store credit if you do not want the reserved item (please see below for specific details.)

How does a preorder work?

Simple! We've set up our website to accept pre-orders for bikes we have arriving this year. You simply select the bike you want, checkout as instructed, and voila! That bike is in our systems as being yours! We will then contact you to complete the deposit and finalize details. This gives us the ability to ensure accurate stock and ETAs for you. You will not be committed to the deposit until we verify the deposit over the phone or in-store.

How accurate are the ETAs?

We are in daily contact with our vendors to secure accurate ETAs on products. They are very accurate, and if needed we will update them when necessary. Some bikes have varying ETAs because some variations (Size & Colour) arrive at different times. We will verify when the bike you preordered will arrive. Again, you are not committed to a deposit until we speak with you in-store or over the phone.

What if the bike doesn't fit, or I decide it doesn't 'feel' right'?

We realize it's less than ideal to buy a bike "site unseen". Bikes are something we believe you need to sit on and ride and discuss with us before you buy. After all, that's what differentiates us from buying a bike online!

If you come in to try the bike and find for whatever reason you do not like the fit, or it's not what they were expecting, you have the following options available:

  • Try the bike with different parts and accessories, such as a shorter/longer stem for better fit.
  • Try a different size of that bike or switch to a different bike (if available).
  • If we cannot find an alternative, your deposit will be applied to store credit.

How do I get my bike?

We will contact you to set up a pick-up at Ridehouse. You then have the following options:

  1. Wait for us to build the bike, come in to test ride it, and set it up to your liking.
  2. Pick up the bike(s) boxed unbuilt (you will receive a $30 discount). We will review the bike prior to ensure all parts are in the package and that there is no shipping damage.

We hope this helps, and remember if you have any questions just let us know!
